Codex CLI on a VPS

Codex CLI is OpenAI's coding agent for the terminal. Installed on a VPS, it has a clean, always-on Linux environment, separate from your workstation.

On a VPS already running, over SSH as root:

Yes: when you order your VPS, open the Applications tab and select Codex CLI. The installation starts by itself and takes 5 to 15 minutes. It is included in the VPS price.
Is Codex CLI free?
The tool is open source, but using it goes through your ChatGPT account or an OpenAI API key, under OpenAI's terms.
Can I use it alongside Claude Code on the same VPS?
Yes, both install side by side. Allow 4 GB of RAM if you use them at the same time on heavy projects.
